Technology in the future

The 'did you know' videos about the technological advances just in the last five years was very interesting. It's exciting and daunting to know that the things we learn during this week will be outdated in six months or so. Exciting because of the newness of the technology, but daunting because I'll never really be 'up-to-speed' with the newest innovations.
Students might only have avatars and attend a virtual school from home. Having actual paper will seem ancient and unfortunately libraries will fade into coffee shops with interactive portals where people send their avatars to retrieve information.

I saw a house on television that had something like a robot or computer program that would check the cupboards and order groceries for the family. Call me old fashioned, but I'm not quite ready for my house to order my groceries!

  1. I think grocery shopping would be much easier though! It is daunting to think about how much has changed in the last 10 years and to wonder how much more it will change in 50. It proves that we all need to be life-long learners!
