First Jing video
I created a Jing video for someone at church to show him how to access ACT prep materials. This is my second try at posting this, but I'm victorious! :)

Technology in the future
The 'did you know' videos about the technological advances just in the last five years was very interesting. It's exciting and daunting to know that the things we learn during this week will be outdated in six months or so. Exciting because of the newness of the technology, but daunting because I'll never really be 'up-to-speed' with the newest innovations.
Students might only have avatars and attend a virtual school from home. Having actual paper will seem ancient and unfortunately libraries will fade into coffee shops with interactive portals where people send their avatars to retrieve information.
Business professionals already have cross country video conferences and entire departments devoted to social media, so in 20 years time, who knows what may happen within the business and technology relationship.
I saw a house on television that had something like a robot or computer program that would check the cupboards and order groceries for the family. Call me old fashioned, but I'm not quite ready for my house to order my groceries!

Open Source Site
My ABCs is an educational game for children that familiarizes them with the alphabet and the keyboard. Many people don't know how to correctly or efficiently type, so I think this game is a good start for preparing children for a new technological world.

Reflection of Day 2 Training
(Big Exhale)Today has been a hectic day with Windows Movie Maker!! Group C had a few issues with uploading our movie due to a corrupted video, but once we figured out the problem, we were in business! We did a good job of working together to create the movie on time management. Candace was the "voice", Jessica put it together, and Shameika and I researched pictures, clips, and information.
The time constraints for both projects made it more of a challenge, but the power point presentations we created weren't nearly as hard. Our presentations were about teaching observations and visits, the difference between the two, and just take notes for everything!
Even though the movie making was frustrating, I know it was great practice for the future technological problems I'll have to solve!

Day one of training
The most interesting feature I learned about today was Google Earth. It's amazing how through technology, the smallest building can be pin pointed and magnified. We discussed possible ways this feature can be used in the classrooms; geography reports, virtual field trips, or to enhance a story read in literature class. We also learned how to record and post a podcast and that scripts help to avoid a case of the 'umms'. We created an event in Google calendar and invited a friend and we learned about the versatility of Google docs and other applications. I have definitely learned a lot today and look forward to the rest of training.
